Representative in one of the groups, master weaver, teacher, and consultant. Assistant in preparation and distribution of materials. Born in 1953, married, and lives in the temporary shelters with her husband and three of her six children, after having escaped from the hardest hit area of the mudslides. Elena is active in her church, speaks Tzutujil, and did not attend school as a girl.
